Dr Matthew Davies
Dr. Matthew Davies is a nephrologist and general physician. He is primarily based at the Austin Hospital, where he is in charge of the peritoneal dialysis and home haemodialysis programs, and has an active role in the education of medical students and junior doctors. He has a special interest in obesity-related hypertension and chronic kidney disease, and has presented and published his research in this area internationally.
Dr. Davies is passionate about providing a high standard of care for his patients. He focuses on identifying treatable causes of kidney disease and slowing disease progression, as well as optimizing the management of associated complications and reducing overall cardiovascular risk. For patients with progressive disease he strives to prepare patients as best as possible for the path ahead, be it dialysis, transplantation or supportive care.
